We are a group of counselors who are passionate about helping people live their best life.
Kristin Wright is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She considers herself a partner in your journey towards optimal wellness. She believes her role is to listen and fully understand your story and personal goals for counseling, then support you in meeting those goals.
Kristin uses research-based approaches to help you achieve peace of mind. She believes each of us has, within us, the power to choose behaviors that will lead to an upward cycle towards wellness and happiness, or the opposite.
She emphasizes behavioral wellness which is the science of doing things (behaving) to improve mental health. This doing includes a variety of things like exercise, mindfulness, nutrition, expressive arts, connection with nature, writing, etc.
Kristin works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families addressing anxiety, depression, relational issues, bipolar, ADHD, grief, and trauma.
She employs the following techniques (among others) to assist clients in creating their optimal well-being: cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, art therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, journaling, yoga, examining automatic thoughts, logotherapy (exploring the meaning of life), and other research-based counseling methods.
Working with Children
When I work with children, I use play therapy techniques specifically geared to meet the children at their developmental stage. Children use the metaphor of play to express and work through the stressors they experience. I am a nonjudgmental, caring adult that offers a space for healing and positive growth.
Angela Taylor, MS, Pre-LPC Intern, uses a variety of approaches in her work in empowering and engaging you in your journey of counseling.
